A really good training session today with excellent attendance. It was obvious the boys have been improving week on week and will be well prepared when we start playing competitive games again.
Everyone “enjoyed” the fitness session with chest to floor burpees being the favourite of everyone (well me at the very least). Special mention to Louise who showed the boys how it's done! It was then Followed by shooting drills to improve the boys power and accuracy in front of goal.
There was then an 8v8 game with Kirdford and Plaistow primary school old boys (whites) taking on the rest (Greens). The Greens stormed into an early 4-0 lead with great play from all of the team starting with Marco In goal through to Charlie up top. Great midfield pressing from Dan, Raff and Cam was supplemented by a rock-like defence of Fin, Ben and Willem.
The whites came back into it after a Jody goal which was scored after great build up play from Sylvester and Luc.
The dynamic Smith brother both received injuries and Charlie swapped allegiances half way through the second half and the game was on a knife edge with Sebby and Max forging a great understanding at the back and Harry J making decent saves but it finished 7-5 to the Greens.
Standard penalty shootout finished with a cooly taken sudden death winner by Sebby to win that for the Whites.
