What you can’t do without at a football club is balls. Lots of balls! All new, higher quality training and match balls - no excuses for beautiful football teams!
It’s a good job the coaches are full of hot air; they’re going to need it to inflate this lot... ;) In view of the responses received and high level of protest against Loxwood Youth Football Club members voluntarily assisting with the forthcoming Velo South cycling event we have decided to withdraw LYFC completely from any participation with the event.
LYFC is a community club and the community is heart of everything we do. As the majority of you will be aware there is a cycling event called the Velo South which is a 100 mile charity event which happens to pass through Loxwood next Sunday.
Loxwood Sports Club on Plaistow Rd is actually an official “pit-stop” for the Velo South and the event has offered to donate £200 to LYFC if we can have 15 volunteers at the club next Sunday to look after the pit-stop and help the riders e.g. give out water, crisps and energy bars etc. Details of this are below: Velo South, 23rd Sept 2018 100 mile closed road cycling race. Pit-stop: Loxwood Sports Club, Plaistow Rd, RH14 0SX. Volunteer Timings: 08.30am to 2.30pm Volunteers will wear official t-shirts given on the day or LYFC kit or own clothes. Hot and cold drinks available all day with breakfast and lunch supplied too. Tasks: smiles, enthusiasm, help with distribution of water, crisps, energy bars, directions to bike racks, toilets etc. Access: by bike or park in the lay-by at Flitchfold Farm by the duck pond on the B2133, 100 yards away. (The road closure will affect Station Road in Loxwood then left at the village shop, past the Onslow Arms, up Vicarage Hill up to the right hand turning on to Plaistow Rd then down through Ifold.) Timings: road closures from 8.00am to 3.15pm, although may be able to keep vehicle access open to 8.30am for volunteers. The first cyclists expected at c9.15 at Loxwood with the last cyclist expected to have passed the Loxwood pit-stop by 2.30pm. Please could you let me know by return if you are able to volunteer to help at this event. The summer is winding down and we're gearing up for a fantastic season ahead at LYFC! Several of the age groups have already started back in training and friendly matches and the majority of teams will be commencing from tomorrow, Saturday September 1. The program for each age group is different, so please check out the Latest News for each team, via the Latest News button on each team's page (see below). We have a vibrant and active community at LYFC with around 130 boys and girls playing football each weekend. We welcome new participants of all standards and abilities; the major requirement is to get involved and have fun! Please contact us for more information - we look forward to seeing you at a try out session in the near future!
If you have got this far, you have found our all-new website, we hope you like it! The aim of the new website is to give you more up-to-date information about the goings-on at Loxwood Youth FC and to share match reports, photos and stories from around the grounds. If you have photos you'd like to post on the website ask your coach or age group administrator or send them to us directly at contact@loxwoodyouthfc.co.uk and we will put them on the site for you.
We have also introduced on-line registration and payments - no more filling in soggy paper forms * and trying to find your cheque book at the back of the kitchen drawer! Hopefully you find the new approach easier, but we welcome comments here to help improve it more. PS you can still fill in a paper form and send us a cheque if you'd really like to :) |
