We are privileged to be able to play at a number of grounds in the local area and the Kirdford Recreation Ground hosts the largest number of players each weekend. We are lucky to be able to provide tea, coffee and toilet facilities to children and parents as well as visiting teams. We share the ground and the pavilion with other users and it is our responsibility to leave the pavilion in a clean and tidy state. Below is the guidance from the Kirdford Rec Committee on how we should tidy and leave the pavilion each weekend. Feedback is welcome and any comments you make here will be shared with the Rec Committee.

Getting Ready for New Season...It’s coming! 2019/20 is upon us. Lots of new equipment being prepared for the season ahead. Only high quality gear for LYFC.
Our club is run by volunteers. All of us are parents of children who play in the club and are able to help with coaching, team administration, pitch marking etc. We ALWAYS need more volunteers and to help incentivise more permanent volunteers, and to recognise the commitment they make, we are now offering FREE registration for volunteers!
The details: In recognition of the hard work and time that volunteers provide in support of the club, recognised volunteers are permitted to register up to one child (from their direct family) at no cost (base subscription). Maximum of one free child per family (regardless of the number of volunteers) Volunteers in scope of this policy are: - Active coaches with up to date FA Coaching, First Aid and CRB check. Max two per team. - Active administrator for each age group. Max one per age group. - Child welfare officer. Max two per club - Charter standard officer. Max one per club - Marketing and comms officer. Max one per club - Chairman. Max one per club - Secretary. Max one per club - Treasurer. Max one per club All eligible volunteers must be active members of the club, participating in club events such as committee meetings, fundraising, club-wide events (Coaches' Cup, Christmas Cup) etc We have gaps in many roles, so if you would like to participate more and give back to your community (and have your child play for free!), or have any feedback on this initiative drop me an email Thanks! David Percy LYFC Secretary (And Coach of U9s. And Dad) HUGE congratulations to our U12 team who won the South Surrey end of Season Cup in a thrilling final against Dorking Wanderers! To put this victory in context, the teams had played twice previously this season and the Magpies had failed to win on either occasion.
The wind was blowing strongly and Loxwood played into the storm in the first half, gritting their teeth and playing robustly. They conceded but went into the break trailing only by one. In the second half Neo K changed position from goalkeeper to striker and scored not one, but two goals to put the U12s in front! In a tense final period they defended stoutly and ran out winners. Congratulations to all the boys for a great performance - full of character - that capped off an excellent season and put them in fine position for next year. Well done boys! Following the success of the Christmas Football Camp at the end of December, Loxwood FC are pleased to announce another Football Camp, this time during the February half term. The Football Camp will again be run by our first team manager Alex and other coaches whom are all FA/UEFA qualified. We aim to make the sessions fun, challenging and suit all abilities. There will also be in-house tournaments to take place on the day as well as lots of prizes to be won, to reserve your son/daughter place please book now.
Thanks to all who turned up for our traditional "parents v kids" Christmas get together. The weather was awful; a combination of near-freezing temperatures, rain and wind meant that there were some chilly children! Nevertheless, there was lots of fun to be had and some stellar football from the children (and an occasional piece of magic from the parents). Al matches were close, the children prevailed in U7/8s, U9s and U10/11s. The U12/13s match was a cliffhanger which finished all square on penalties!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated raffle prizes and helped out with the preparation and on the day - we can't do any of this without you! Wishing you all the best for Christmas! LYFC Due to popular demand, we have a new range of LYFC-branded gear in the store! We've added some more leisureware (sweatshirts, hoodies, backpacks) that starts from £11.08 as well as Adidas training gear (tracksuits, rain jackets training tops) - perfect for winter training sessions and matches. We also think that parents need some Loxwood swag, so much of the gear is orderable in grown-up sizes too!
Our suppler will do their best to fulfil orders by Christmas if they're ordered this week, but would be good to double-check if you need it for Christmas. Head over to our store for all your LYFC apparel! |
