We had an excellent session on Saturday with lots of young players getting to grips with the basics of football: passing the ball, space, teamwork etc. Everyone is at different stages of development and when we have a better insight into numbers we will look at how we run sessions to cater for everyone.
A couple of updates below. Please don't hesitate to call or email me if you have questions or comments.

REGISTRATION
Thanks to those who have already registered (and paid subscriptions), for those who have yet to do so, please complete the registration process ASAP. Everything is on-line now on our website at www.loxwoodyouthfc.co.uk (under the registration menu). It should be very simple, but if you have any issues, please come back to me (or ask others who have already registered).
It is vital we get players registered and information about emergency contacts, allergies etc so we can be prepared in case of any issues. Also, prompt payment of subs is appreciated; at this time of year we have lots of outgoings and getting monies in helps offset the outlay on new equipment etc.
VOLUNTEERS
Everyone at the club is a volunteer and it's greatly appreciated when anyone offers help. So, a huge thank you to Victoria, Rebecca, Rachel and everyone who helped with "Operation bacon sandwich" at the weekend! This is a great step up for the Rec and that you did it proactively was greatly appreciated!
Any offers of help - large or small - are fantastic; we will need to put the goals out each week (much easier for two people), cones etc. Anyone who has a fancy to mark the pitches out, that's a great help too!
VELO SOUTH
As the majority of you will be aware there is a cycling event called the Velo South which is a 100 mile charity event which happens to pass through Loxwood next Sunday.
Loxwood Sports Club on Plaistow Rd is actually an official “pit-stop” for the Velo South and the event has offered to donate £200 to LYFC if we can have 15 volunteers at the club next Sunday to look after the pit-stop and help the riders e.g. give out water, crisps and energy bars etc. Details of this are below:
Velo South, 23rd Sept 2018
100 mile closed road cycling race.
Pit-stop: Loxwood Sports Club, Plaistow Rd, RH14 0SX.
Volunteer Timings: 08.30am to 2.30pm
Volunteers will wear official t-shirts given on the day or LYFC kit or own clothes. Hot and cold drinks available all day with breakfast and lunch supplied too.
Tasks: smiles, enthusiasm, help with distribution of water, crisps, energy bars, directions to bike racks, toilets etc.
Access: by bike or park in the lay-by at Flitchfold Farm by the duck pond on the B2133, 100 yards away.
(The road closure will affect Station Road in Loxwood then left at the village shop, past the Onslow Arms, up Vicarage Hill up to the right hand turning on to Plaistow Rd then down through Ifold.)
Timings: road closures from 8.00am to 3.15pm, although may be able to keep vehicle access open to 8.30am for volunteers.
The first cyclists expected at c9.15 at Loxwood with the last cyclist expected to have passed the Loxwood pit-stop by 2.30pm.
Please could you let me know by return if you are able to volunteer to help at this event.
