Saturday September 1st was our first day of training for the induction years of LYFC. We had a fantastic morning with bright sun and freshly mown grass. After a little bit of pre-season publicity we welcomed a number of new players to our club. We had a fun morning playing some games which start to develop footballing skills - it's great to see how children already have a sense of some skills at this early age.
The "why it's worth it" moment: one small child sat on the bench and cuddled his Mum for much of the morning. He was eventually persuaded to join in, albeit reluctantly, but by the end of the morning was competing and participating fully with a huge smile on his face. The next day I bumped into child and Mum buying football boots and shin pads!
Awards for Sept 1
"Best listener" - Freddie
"Best taking part" - Tommy
Look forward to seeing you again this Saturday - pls arrive in time for a 9am start. If you can communicate to friends and others on the school run it will help with numbers moving forward. :)
Thanks!
David
