The Lions can look ahead to another thrilling and challenging season this year after it was confirmed that following last year's results, Loxwood will again compete in the top division of the Horsham and District Youth Football League. As well as competing again against some very good teams such as Cranleigh, Chesworth and Henfield, the League have also promoted some new teams into the top division including East Grinstead, Royals and Lingfield who will all be great additions, and I'm sure the Lions will relish the opportunity to test themselves against these new teams as well as renewing battle with some of our more familiar league opponents. We have had some brilliant league matches and performances at this level in previous seasons and I'm certain we will have many more this year.
Excitingly this season also sees the Lions move up to eleven a-side, which should benefit us with the type of players we have and the greater flexibility to change formation. Hopefully the success we had last year trialling eleven a-side augurs well for the season ahead.
The league season is due to start on Saturday 8th September.
