Dorkinians 3 v 1 Loxwood
Scorer: Tom
Team: Tom, Nathan, Charlie Davies, Liam, Zach, Ethan, Charlie D’Aoust, Rowan, Will, Fraser, Hamish
Although spring was in the air for this end of season encounter, unfortunately the whites did not have a ‘spring in their step’ for this one. We started the first ten minutes very strongly and were well on top with Tom just missing out with a rasping drive which just flew over, and then Liam sending a free kick inches over the bar. But as the half grew on Dorkinians grew more and more into the game to make it more even. The Magpies missed a great opportunity following a clever free kick by Liam, but nobody could convert the chance, and then is was Loxwood who went ahead after the opposition keeper could not keep out a bobbling effort from Tom, taking his eyes of the ball.
So Loxwood went in at the break 1-0 up, but after half time, Dorkinians scored quickly as the defence could not clear a loose ball, and then went ahead a few minutes later with a great finish. The Magpies then drifted out of the game a bit as Dorkinians grew in confidence, and after a neat turn from their striker the ball flew in to make it 3-1.
Special mention to Charlie Davies who did a sterling job in goal but overall it was not the kind of performance we have seen in recent weeks. But football gives you the chance to go again and so onto the next game. Come on you Whites!!!
