Mistakes cost magpies in close encounter

Saturday 21st September - Dorking Wanderers 2 v 0 Loxwood

Loxwood just lost out in this early season encounter against one of this season's front runners.
The game started at a fast tempo with both sides trying to get a foothold in the game. But Loxwood held firm with a great energy, shape and commitment. Then unfortunately right at the end of the first half the whites gave away a needless corner and the resulting cross was nodded home by the Dorking striker.
So Loxwood went in just the 1-0 down, and the second half followed a similar pattern with chances at a minimum although both Neo and then Rowan went close by putting pressure on the Dorking defenders.
As the game progressed it became more stretched and then with just a few minutes to go Dorking then doubled the lead when a striker followed up a shot that spilled from the keepers grasp.
This was a tight game and with more focus the whites could have got something from this game as the levels of effort and the shape of the side could not be faulted.
Man of the match this week goes to Harry Parsons who did some sterling work in defence and was instrumental in stopping the Dorking strikers from having many chances.
