Milford 0 - Loxwood 5 (Harry W, Flyn x 2, Milo, Harry N)
The Jets were at full strength this week and it quickly became evident all were on top form today. Some great passing between several Loxwood players within the first few minutes led to Harry W burying a shot the keeper could only get fingertips to for Loxwood to go 1-0 up. After some confident defending by Luke and Jay cleared things up, Finley's through ball to Flyn squirmed through the Milford defence and Flyn charged through and hit another strong Loxwood shot to make it 2-0. Shortly after some really neat short passing involving Nathaniel and Finley set Milo up to absolutely blast a shot into the top left corner to make it 3-0 at half-time. A really good half Loxwood largely dominated with only a couple of clear ups for William in goal. Dylan and Nathaniel showed off their great passing games with Sam and Ben storming down either flank at any given chance and Harry W covering every blade of grass with aplomb.
Second half now and Loxwood picked straight back up again. With Ben, Harry W and Sam sweeping everything up at the back Luke and Milo surged up the left, with Milo crossing for Flyn to pass the ball first time into the bottom right corner to make it 4-0. A super goal to watch and no chance for the keeper there. The next 15 minutes were pretty even, with Milford having a speedy striker to watch and lots of attack down Loxwood's left, Sam and Finley at left back were kept busy and made some solid tackles. Dylan and Jay were finding Phoenix and Luke in space out wide, with Phoenix beating his man and finding Harry N, shots were consistently flying at the Milford goal. However some sound play by Milford again down Loxwood's left saw Ben put in another strong and well-timed covering tackle, with the ref (who I thought had a good match mostly) awarding Milford a penalty. Thankfully William pulled off a great reaction save, with Flyn and Finley then getting to the ball and clearing the danger. Loxwood then went straight up the other end on the counter attack with Harry N finishing off a sweeping move to make it 5-0 on the morning.
