Loxwood 4 (William H x 2, Finley V, Axel) Milford 1
This match ended 5-0 to Loxwood at Milford so the opposition were in search of revenge. However Loxwood started really well, on a morning where the parents wished they were somewhere dry and warm, as the passing and movement from Loxwood was on form most of the match, William H picked up a loose ball on the edge of the box and struck a quality finish across goal to make it 1-0 after about 5 minutes, Milford looked shocked. An even match now with Loxwood holding on at times, William making a couple of saves, and struggling to find the killer ball. Harry N, William H, Ben and Axel did well playing out from the back at every opportunity, keeping the ball and creating attacks. Phoenix finding a lot of space down the right. Finished 1-0 at half-time though.
Second half Loxwood played some accomplished football creating a lot of chances but leaving themselves vulnerable at the back. Thankfully Harry N's pace coupled with Sam's strong tackling - I don't think Sam has lost a 50-50 tackle this season - managed to clear the danger. Milo, Dylan and William H combined well across the pitch creating a lot of chances for Finley playing up front, who unfortunately slipped at the crucial moment, and with Dylan and Milo testing the keeper. Then Loxwood conceded a penalty - Finley said there was nothing in it - and William got a big paw out to save another Milford penalty. They must be sick of the sight of him. Soon after Milford had a dangerous corner with Sam keeping composure in his box, dribbling into space and finding Milo in midfield, a quick touch to Dylan found a trademark outside of the boot slipped pass to William H who was through on goal. With Williams speed and perfectly measured dribbling he made the finish look easy for his second goal to make it 2-0. Ben was making some great late runs into the box, but the ball would just not fall for him, he had a great game. Shortly after Finley finally got his goal with a first time shot into the bottom corner. Milford then scored with a breakaway, despite Sam's best efforts. Axel then scored a good goal from 18 yards into the bottom corner to make it 4-1. Well played lads.
